What is this

This web app contains various medical terms and definitions. Please see our About page to see how the Lexicon came to be.

Translation into your language

See the "Translation" drop down at the top of the page to see if your language is available.
Changing the language will show the translated versions of Body Parts, Labs, Diseases, Drugs, Special Terms/Vocab in the selected language. Additionally, if there is an available sound clip you can click the following icon to hear the translation:

Using the Body Map

Click on the desired body region, and then click on the desired body part to see associated terms with that body part. Click on the body region and then click on "All ____ Terms" button to view all terms associated with that body region.

How to find the term you are looking for

Starting on the main page, click the category that most closely matches the term you are looking for and use the Search box to filter the terms list down to the desired term. If you are not sure what category the terms would be under, use the Search all terms to find it.
When you have found the term, click on it to bring the Term Details modal.

Using the Advanced Search

The advanced search options, viewable by default on the Search All Terms Page, allow you filter the terms list down by System, or Type. The search options are available on every terms page.

Traducción a su idioma

Vea la pestaña "Translation" del menú desplegable en la parte superior de la página para averiguar si su idioma se encuentra disponible.

Uso del mapa del cuerpo

Haga clic en la región corporal que desee consultar, luego haga clic en la parte del cuerpo que le sea de interés para ver los términos relacionados con esa parte del cuerpo. Haga clic en la región corporal, luego haga clic en el botón "All ____ Terms" (Todos los términos) para ver todos los términos relacionados con esa parte del cuerpo.

Cómo encontrar el término que está buscando

Comenzando en la página principal, haga clic en la categoría que más corresponda al término que está buscando y utilice la caja de búsqueda para filtrar la lista de términos hasta encontrar el término deseado. Si no sabe en qué categoría puede estar el término, utilice la opción de buscar todos los términos para encontrarlo.
Cuando haya encontrado el término, haga clic en él para que aparezcan los detalles.

Uso de la búsqueda avanzada

Las opciones de búsqueda avanzada, que se pueden utilizar en la página "Search All Terms" (Buscar todos los términos), le permiten filtrar la lista de términos por sistema o por tipo de término. Las opciones de búsqueda se pueden utilizar en todas las páginas de términos.
